Statement about the Center

The Loyola Center for Cranial Base Surgery, established in 1987, is dedicated to the management of all skull base disorders. The treatment of over 2000 patients has benefited from the collaborative efforts of the departments of Otolaryngology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Neuroanesthesiology and Radiotherapy.

Treatment options include MRI surveillance, radiosurgery and microsurgery. Surgical options include hearing preservation and ablative approaches. Patients are encouraged to participate in selecting their own treatment plan. A Board Certified Nurse Practitioner coordinates all aspects of hearing, balance and facial nerve recovery.
